Joy of Learning

Joy of Learning

Joy of Learning is our program designed for school children, focusing on multidimensional extracurricular activities to build capabilities and explore and nurture talents beyond traditional academic routines. Joy of Learning is structured around five pillars:

  1. Building Comprehension
  2. I Do It Myself
  3. World Around Me
  4. World Beyond Me
  5. Art and Culture

Two Layers of Joy of Learning

The program is designed in two layers. In Layer 1, our volunteer mentors work under each pillar to develop learning objectives, training materials and props, methods, and narratives to deliver the content to the students. After this preparatory work, mentors collaborate with a team of teachers recruited from the local community, explaining the concepts behind the content, guiding them to rebuild the props locally, and rigorously training them with adequate practice.

In Layer 2, our local teachers prepare by working with remote mentors over video conferences and then conduct the classes to deliver the content to the students. After each class, videos are shared with the mentors for improvement review.
