Tribal Culture

Adivasi Mela

Mela History

Mela History

Mela History

We first celebrated Adivasi Mela in Kulburu in April 2023. We found that beyond its cultural and celebratory dimensions, the event inspired a host of positive outcomes, ranging from economic development to social cohesion. This inspired us to think of Adivasi Mela as an annual event.

Mela History

In the Mela, we offer traditional cultural practices, songs, dance and folklore the centre stage. It is an annual marketplace for tribal artisans and entrepreneurs. We offer encouragement to traditional tribal games like archery.

Mela Purpose

Mela Purpose

We view Adivasi Mela emerging as an engine for cultural preservation and a key contributor to the intellectual capital of the community.

Furthermore, we believe sustained cultural exploration will nurture self-respect, rational thinking, advocate human rights and promote social justice.
